Calorimeters are used to explore the basic physics of heat and energy. Experiment topics include heat and energy interchange, heat and temperature, heat capacity and specific heat, latent heat, and much more. The spring heating element operates on 6 V DC batteries. This double-walled calorimeter includes an easily removable spring heating element unit. This unit consists of an inner aluminium reservoir with the capacity of 150 ml, an aluminium outer, and a plastic insulator ring. This calorimeter has a diameter of 10.5 cm and the height of 10 cm. The cover contains a mounted heating coil of about 2-3 ohm resistance with standard binding posts for electrical connections.
