Vacuum Adapter with PTFE Stopcock, Bent Type, 24/40
The vacuum adaptor is used in a distillation set-up, it connects to the lower end of the condenser and serves to direct the distilled liquid into the receiving flask. As its name implies, the vacuum adapter has a side-arm which can be connected to a vacuum source. A “bent adaptor” would serve the same purpose in a simple or fractional distillation. The advantage of a vacuum adaptor over a bent adaptor is the ability to serve not only in simple or fractional distillations, but in a “vacuum distillation”. This vacuum adapter is made of high quality borosilicate glass and has a 24/40 joint size.
